DEB'S DISCOVERERS!

We LOVE Discovery times. It gives us an opportunity to try something new.
Room 14 would like to say a BIG thank you to the parents and helpers who give up their precious time to come on in and help make this hour of fun happen!

Check out what we got up to in our last session.......

Scone making!  would you like sweet or savoury?

Jody is teaching us how to make the scones. Thanks Jody!

Look Out! Look out! Bubbles are about!
Here we are making 'Trouble with Bubbles' with Deb.
We experimented with our very own bubble mixtures to try to find out which mixture made the best bubbles!
Liquid hand soap works well!

Shelby's GIANT bubble!

Cushion Stitching! Look at the different types of stitching these girls know how to do!
Heather turned them into pillows for us. Thanks Heather!

Jean Luc taught us how to make 'Wish Dolls'
They are made from recyclable materials.
We wrote a wish on a piece of paper and scrunched it up to become the dolls head. We covered it with fabric, cut out slits for the arms and legs.
We then wrapped the arms and legs with wool.
They look awesome!

Ella! you are a sewing expert! perhaps you can teach Deb how to sew on a button!!

All this hard 'Discovery work' required some healthy snacks. Here is Ethan making the popcorn! Thanks Ethan! it was yummy!

BUBBLE TROUBLE!

Science Rocks!
Mr Science had us blowing bubbles today!
We used pipettes and two different bubble mixtures to experiment in making the BIGGEST bubbles.
We had a competition.
Liam won with his amazing bubble he blew with a 44cm diameter! WOW!
We hope he enjoyed eating his chocolate fish prize! He deserved it with that awesome result.
Check out our photos of us in action...... We have a feeling this could end up being a fun 'discovery time' activity in the upcoming weeks!   FUN! FUN! FUN!
Here, Skye is creating a beautiful bubble. Love the colours Skye!

Incoming Bubble Scarlet! POP!

Young scientist hard at work!

We used woolen gloves to catch our bubbles. The woolen gloves provided a softer surface for our bubbles to land on!
A very tricky business!

This is how it is done!

Yet another bubble professional at work!
