Woodwork with Mr Wastney and Jean Luc. We designed our own wooden signs . We could put our name on it or a message.
Here we are using stencils. Then we used a special cutter to cut over our name or message.

Eva's design

Mr Wastney is showing Campbell how to use the stencil

This group made Pom poms with Judy and Catherine.

This is how we started

Lots of wool colours to choose from!

The week that was........'WONDER'ful!!

WOW! we have had one busy, fantastic, super, outrageous week of learning.
Look what we have been up to!!! I bet the parents wish they were back at school!
TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO!
MR SCIENCE !! We made slime!

We had a powder, then added liquid. It became a solid!

Ooey gooey slime!

We had to stir and stir without stoping so it wouldn't go all lumpy.
It was tough work!

We got to put our own slime into a bag to take home! YAY! Thanks Mr Science!
We had fun learning about how the same ingredients can have different forms.
For example....... water is the same as a block of ice! it is just in a different form!

RONALD McDONALD ROAD SAFETY!

Ronald McDonald came to our school tot each us about road safety.

We read a story.... He lost his red and white stripy sock! we had to help him find it. BUT... while we were looking we had to be careful of sneaky driveways, busy roads!
If we ride a scooter or a bike we need to keep safe and wear a helmet!
In the car, even if we are travelling near or far, if you're in the front seat or if you're in the back,
CLICK goes your seatbelt CLICK CLICK CLICK!!
Thanks Ronald! You were funny!

LIFE EDUCATION! We had the mobile classroom come to visit.
Victoria and Harold taught us about 'Feelings' and 'the body'

Wow! it's awesome being in here!

We helped the carpet kid by placing the organs in the correct place!

Harold sung us songs and blew us sloppy kisses!!

Thanks Victoria & Harold! We loved learning with you!

GRASSHOPPER TENNIS with Riley!
Here we are learning about fore hand and backhand serves

Practice makes perfect!

Balancing a ball on our racquets was tricky! Eva is doing a great job!
THANKS RILEY! We love Tennis!

SKILLED ON 'SKELETONS!'

Deb's Dream Team have been having fun learning about the human body. Last week we learned about our skeleton. Do you know why we have bones? what would we be like if we didn't have any?

We had Zach's Mum, Candice come in and talk to us about our bones and how our bones work.
She is a Sports Physiotherapist, she helps people who have injuries and gets their bodies moving properly again.

She brought along her Friend 'Fred'. He showed us what our bones look like on the inside! COOL!

We learned about 'Hinge joints' and 'Ball and Socket joints'. Can you figure out what bony parts these could be?

The knee cap bone is called the 'Patella!'
The Femur bone is your thigh bone and it is the longest bone in our body! WOW!
CHECK OUT OUR PHOTOS!
We had a go at pasting a skeleton together correctly! this was hard work!

Mr Baker found it tough too!

Deb ade some salt dough and we had a go at forming our own bones. Finn made a whole hand bone!

Tom made an arm bone

Some made 'Ball and socket' joints! can you find them?

Luca's spine!

Some of our bone creations. Can you work out which bones these could be?

Candice showed us skeletal foot models. Look at all the joints we have in our toes!

This is a knee joint. The Ligaments help join bones together. They work like a rubber band so we can bend out knee!

This is Fred! He is a very bony man!

Look at Fred's shoulder...... Our shoulder has a ball and socket joint so it can rotate. Our hips, neck and ankles are like this too.

WE ARE VERY GLAD THAT WE HAVE BONES!
